Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Based on the results of the short-term toxicity limit test conducted on freshwater fish (Rainbow trout) it can be concluded that the test material, Diutan is of low toxicity to fish in the freshwater environment as no mortality or sub-lethal effects during the study (96hr NOEC = 100 mg ai/L). The results of short-term toxicity test conducted on marine fish (Turbot) showed mortality occurred during the study leading to an 96h EC50 value of ca. 260 mg/L. However, the mortality observed was noted at test concentrations which saw a marked reduction in the dissolved oxygen concentration (DO) to levels outside those permitted by the validation criteria of the test method. Due to these deficiencies within this test, the results are not considered valid and cannot be used in the CSA. As a conservative measure the LC50 for marine fish to be used in the CSA will be set the same as the freshwater value above.
