Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance is a salt and is reaction product of acids and bases that retain their ionic character. In water the substance is completely dissociated.

Additionally, the substance contains multiple ionisable functionalites, thus the pKa values have been calculated for each dissociated species likely to exist in solution at 25°C. The calculation was using recommended software SPARCv4.6 and the results are given as follows:

pKa1= 0.7 (-SO3H, sulphonic acid group)

pKa2= 3.8 (-CO2H, carboxy group)

pKa3= 10.8 (-OH, hydroxy group)
