Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Algae were exposed to 0 and 100 mg/L test substance during 72 hours. No effects on growth rate and biomass were found. The analyses for accuracy of preparation at the maximum concentration attainable showed that the average measured concentration at a loading rate of 100 mg/L was <LOQ (0.0028 mg/L) (Harlan 2013f).
The ECr50 for algae is > 100 mg/L as loading rate. The NOEC is set at 100 mg/L as loading rate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
0.2 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.2 mg/L

Additional information

No toxicity was reported at the loading rate of 100 mg/L. It is expected that the EC50 will be above the maximum attainable concentration. The water solubility level is used as the starting point for risk assessment.
