Experimental data are only available for one of the major components of the reaction mass of 2 -piperazin-1 -ylethanol, piperazine-1,4 -diethanol and piperazine (50, 25 and 25%).

The bioconcentration factor was determined for piperazine (CAS 110 -85 -0) similar to OECD 305 resulting in a BCF < 3.9 (NITE, 1979). Based on the log Kow for the major components of the reaction mass, no studies need to be conducted since their log Kow's are below 3:

- 2 -piperazin-1 -ylethanol (CAS 103 -76 -4): log Kow -1.47 (measured; @ 25°C, pH 10.5-10.9; BASF AG, 1989; J.No. 105629)

- piperazine-1,4 -diethanol (CAS 122-96 -3): log Kow -1.62 (measured; @ 25 °C, pH 9.4–9.7; BASF AG, 1989; J.No. 105629)

- piperazine (CAS 110 -85 -0): -1.24 (measured; @ 25 °C; BASF AG, 1989; J.No. 105629)

The BCF values for the major components were estimated to be 3.16 using the BCFBAF Program v3.01 of EPI Suite v4.10 (BASF SE, 2013).

A bioaccumulation study with fish (Cyprinus carpio) according to OECD 305C did not show any risk of bioaccumulation for piperazine (NITE, 1979).

Based on these results, it can be concluded that accumulation in organisms is not to be expected.
