Description of key information

The relative biodegradation of Hydroxyambran was found to be 67.5 % after 14 and 86.8 % after 28 days.

Additional information

The biodegradability of the test article Hydroxyambran was determined in a Closed Bottle Test according to OECD Guideline 301 D.

The biodegradability of the test article and the reference substance sodium benzoate was calculated on the basis of their theoretical oxygen demands (TOD).

The relative biodegradation of Hydroxyambran was found to be 67.5 % after 14 and 86.8 % after 28 days.

Within this period of time, a 86.8 % biodegradability of the reference substance sodium bezoate was determined.

A comparison of the biodegradability values of the test article and the reference substance sodium benzoate over a period of 28 days in the Closed Bottle Test indicates that the test article Hydroxyambran may be regarded as readily biodegradable.
