Additional information

Not much information is available.

The substance is a salt consisting of an ion pair of C10-13-sec alkylbenzene sulphonate (ABS) as anion and a methacrylamide cation. Due to the ionic nature of the salt bioavailability via oral route is expected, whereas dermal absorption is likely to be limited.

Comparing results from 14-day range finder and full OECD 422 study on the structural homologue MAPTA-ABS salt, indicate that following high dose administration toxicity symptoms appear within two days, and also clear again within two days after stopping dosing. There is no increase of toxicity symptoms with prolongation of dosing. This indicates the substance does not accumulate, and excretion is reasonably rapid.
