Additional information - General Population

28 day oral rat NOAEL: 43 mg/kg bw/day (nominal) (male/female) based on: test mat.

28 day oral rat LOAEL: 160 mg/kg bw/day (actual dose received) (male/female) based on: test mat. (Based on decreased body weight gain in males and females during the pre-mating period, and an increased incidence of microscopic lesions in the kidneys of males and acanthosis of the glandular and non-glandular stomach of females.)

Since the effects at 160 mg/kg are considered either adaptive and not relevant for humans, the figure of 160 mg/kg/day is used to set the human DNEL and as a basis for classification.

A number of similar substances are undergoing registration and collective review of data may be needed.
