The substance is typically manufactured in a water based process and is supplied in water as a liquid solution. The pure substance is not normally isolated and especially dried samples were necessary to prepared to allow completion of some of the physico-chemical studies.
Most testing has been performed on the aqueous product and where necessary, results adjusted to reflect the substance and not the water. This is considered a valid approach where testing takes place in biological systems.
