Based on proprietary studies, C12 members of this category are considered to be readily biodegradable, while C8 and C16 members of this category are considered to be not readily biodegradable. These results are supported by the QSAR estimates of representative C8, C12 and C16 structures for the butylenes oligomers.
Structural analysis of the streams indicates that they are not expected to undergo hydrolysis due to the lack of hydrolysable functional groups. Experimental data are not available for any category members on bioaccumulation potential or Koc. In the absence of measured data, the BCF and Koc of these streams have been calculated based on the calculated log Kow.
