Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In conclusion, FP-100 is not ‘highly flammable’ according to the criteria of the guideline.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

FLAMMABILITY: In contact with the ignition source, FP-100 first emitted some sparks and then melted. FP-100 could not be ignited with a flame during the preliminary test (contact time of about 2 minutes). Therefore, no main test was performed. In conclusion, FP-100 is not ‘highly flammable” according to the criteria of the guideline.

FLAMMABILITY IN CONTACT WITH WATER AND PYROPHORIC PROPERTIES:

Chemical Structure: The appraisal of the molecular structure indicates no risk with respect to pyrophoric properties or the potential of evolving flammable gases in contact with water or humid air.

Practical Experience: Studies were performed in aqueous test systems (e.g. water solubility). The test item did not show any spontaneous ignition or formation of flammable gases performing the above- mentioned study. Thus, it can be concluded beyond reasonable doubt that the test item does not ignite spontaneously when in contact with water or humid air.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The study showed that FP-100 is non-flammable under all of the test conditions as discussed above
