Specific details on test material used for the study:
Cocoyl proline is produced directly in water solution. In this test, cocoyl proline was tested in the commercialized form, so in aqueous solution.

This choice was taken considering that for measuring toxicity on aquatic invertebrates, solids need to be dissolved in water before testing. Furthermore, it provides a better understanding on the properties of the substance in the form that will be in contact with final users

Water percentage in the sample varies between 30 and 50%.

Sampling and analysis

Analytical monitoring:
not specified

Test solutions

Vehicle:
no
Details on test solutions:
A stock solution has been prepared dissolving a known amount of the sample in a specified volume of
dilution water (1 g/L). The test has been carried out starting from the concentration of 100 mg/L.

Test organisms

Test organisms (species):
Daphnia magna
Details on test organisms:
The method requires Daphnia magna grown in laboratory under controlled conditions, while organisms (Ephippia) from specialized suppliers have been used in immobilized conditions and let open (about 72-80 hours, 6000 lux, 20-22°C, about 72-80) for the execution of the test. The crustaceans used for the test were not more than 24 hours old.
