Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult a physician.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Keeping the eyelid open, rinse out with sufficient quanti-
ties of water (eye douche). If necessary, seek medical
advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off with sufficient quantities of water. Contaminated
clothes should be changed.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Make victim drink large quantities of water. Immediately
call a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, BC and ABC-powder, water.

Product arising from burning: Hydrogenfluoride, phosphorus oxide.

Protective equipment: Handguard (e.g. oil resistant rubber gloves), body
protection and circulating air-independent respiratory
protection.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Completely take up dry and feed it to waste disposal. Do

not discharge to the soil. Clean contaminated articles and
areas. Avoid dust spreading.

Contaminated clothes should be changed. Label material to
dispose according TRGS 201 (in Germany). Install suitable
precautionary measures against further spreading. Provide
for sufficient ventilation. The available data to the
material are not sufficient in order to exclude dangerous
characteristics, therefore adopt the work preventive
measures as usual with chemical materials.

Handling and storage

Handling: All work processes must always be designed so that skin and
eye contact with the substance is excluded and exposure by
inhalation is as low as possible. Goggles (e.g. tightly
fitting goggles) and oilproof rubber gloveds and respira-
tory protection (e.g. full-face mask with filter, brown and
grey according to DIN) are therefore recommended.

Do not allow the substance to enter the waste water or the
soil. The use of splashproof removal/filling equipment as
well as, if necessary, local exhaust ventilation are
therefore required as the main technical protection
measures.

Storage: Use packaging authorized according to the GGVS for internal
transportation too. Adhere to the applicable RID and ADR
rules and label according to the Hazardous Substances
Ordinance.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene drums with locking collar, airproof.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameter: contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.

Engineering measures
Technical measures and appropriate working operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment.

Individual protection measures
Protective clothing needs to be selected specifically for the workplace, depending on concentrations and quantities of the hazardous substances handled. The chemical resistance of the protective equipment should be enquired at the respective supplier.

Hygiene measures
Change contaminated clothing. Apply preventive skin protection. Wash hands after working with substance. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Work under hood. Do not inhale substance.

Eye/face protection: tightly fitting safety goggles.

Hand protection
full contact:
Glove material: Nitrile rubber
Glove thickness: 0,11 mm
Break through time: > 480 min
splash contact:
Glove material: Nitrile rubber
Glove thickness: 0,11 mm
Break through time: > 480 min
The protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC Directive 89/686/EEC and the related standard EN374.

Respiratory protection
required when dusts are generated.

Environmental exposure controls
Do not empty into drains.

Stability and reactivity

the product is chemically stable under standard ambient conditions (room temperature). Violent reactions possible with: strong oxidizing agents. Conditions to avaoid: strong heating.

In correspondingly fine distribution, when whirled up a dust explosion potential may generally be assumed.

Chemical reaction with water: Hydrolysis and solution of the substance.

Dust explosion: No

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Removal by controlled dumping at a licensed landfill.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Partially hydrolysis in acidic solution.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not known yet.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerator with flue gas scrubbing.
