- Conclusions:
- The isothermal thermogravimetric effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of Solvent Red 119.
A value of the vapour pressure of the test item was determined using the data obtained between 210 °C and 260 °C.
The vapour pressure of the test item was calculated (mean of three de-terminations) to: 6.17 × 10-7 Pa at 20 °C.
This value however is expected to be overestimated, because it was de-termined from the molten material. - Executive summary:
According to ibacon Study 126021180 the melting range of the test item is 226.0 °C to 227.7 °C. The evaluation of the vapour pressure was done with the reproducible weight loss values above 230 °C, it´s means above the melting range.
The corresponding weight loss curve is shown in Appendix I, Figure 1.
The results of the isothermal TGA analysis are given in Appendix I, Table 2.
Appendix I, Figure 2 shows the plot of log VTof the test item as function of the reciprocal temperatures. The coefficient of correlation (R2) was 0.9940.
The regression line of log PTas a function of log VTused for calibration is given in Appendix I, Figure 3. The coefficient of correlation (R2) was 0.9945. The resulting equation was:
Inserting the equation for log VTabove, the following equation for the temperature dependence of the vapour pressure of the test item is obtained:
(where: a = -4.6270, b = 6.0928 C = 4.7300 and D = 1.1279)
With this equation, a following vapour pressure results were obtained:
6.17 × 10-7Pa at 20 °C.
