Discussion

According to criteria mentioned in EC Method A.5, substances showing a surface tension lower than 60 mN/m under the conditions of this method should be regarded as being surface active.

Conclusions:
The Surface Tension of FRET 11-0539 has been determined to be 54.5 mN/m at 20°C according to OECD TG 115 (Surface Tension of Aqueous Solutions) using ring method in compliance with GLP. According to EU method A5, the substance is considered to be surface active because the value is less than 60mN/m.

Executive summary:

The Surface Tension of FRET 11-0539 has been determined to be 54.5 mN/m at according to OECD TG 115 (Surface Tension of Aqueous Solutions) using ring method. According to EU method A5, the substance is considered to be surface active because the value is less than 60mN/m (http://enfo.agt.bme.hu/drupal/sites/default/files/A05web1992.pdf).
