Description of key information

The acute toxicity of the test item to the fresh water invertebrate Daphnia magnahas been investigated and gave a 48‑Hour EC50 value of greater than 100 mg/L. The NOEC was 100 mg/L.

The effect of the test item on the growth of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata has been investigated and gave EC50 values of greater than 100 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Concentration was 100 mg/L.

Additional information

The substance is not classified for Aquatic toxicity as the EC50 values are greater than 100 mg/l.

A safety net classification also does not need to be applied as the substance has a low Pow (between 0 -1) therefore this demonstrates that the substance is not likely to bioaccumulate.

The substance is not readily biodegradable. However, as it is not likely that the substance is bioaccumulating, aquatic toxicity classiifcation does not apply to this substance.
