Version / remarks:
1995-07-27
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Specific details on test material used for the study:
SOURCE OF TEST MATERIAL
- Source and lot/batch No.of test material: Mr. Klemmt; E-EMD/QR - J550, Batch identification: A14-Q0201

STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material: ambient temperature
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
59 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013.25 hPa
Decomposition:
no

The sharp melting peak showed only a minimal rounding on the low temperature side, starting at about 50 °C, due to impurities. In order to survey the thermic behavior of the test item a preliminary TG/DSC-Test (non-GLP) was run up to 600 °C. An endothermic peak starting at about 100 °C with a total weight loss at 200 °C showed the vaporization of the test item.

Determination Onset Temperature [°C]   Peak temperature [°C]
 A 58.4 60.6
 B 58.7  60.6
 Mean Value  59 61

Description of key information

The melting point of the test substance was 59 °C when determined in a study according to OECD Guideline 102.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
59 °C

Additional information

A melting point of 59 °C was determined in a study according to OECD Guideline 102 (BASF SE, 2017).
