Description of key information
2-Butoxyethyl methacrylate is deemed to have a low potential for adsorption as the Log Kow value are below the adsorption threshold of 3. Therefore, additional
adsorption-desorption data is not required under REACH Annex VIII. Any sorption of the registered substance to soil or sediment is expected to be negligible.
The ready biodegradation of the test substance in water was determined in accordance with OECD Guideline 301 D (Ready Biodegradability: Closed Bottle Test). The test showed that the substance biodegraded by >60 % (66 %) on day 21, which indicate that the substance is ready biodegrdable under the test conditions. The result obtained for day 28 should be disregarded given that the blank dissolved oxygen reading exceeded the threshold outlined in the guideline, invalidating the data for this sampling point.
Since the substance is deemed to be ready biodegradable hydrolysis can be waived in accordance with REACH Annex VIII, column 2.
