First-aid measures
Exposure by Inhalation: Symptoms may include irritation of nose, throat and lungs, including coughing. Remove person to fresh air. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
Exposure by Skin Contact: Symptoms may include irritation and reddening of the affected skin area. Wash skin with soap & water. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
Exposure by Eye Contact: Symptoms may include stinging and reddening of eyes. Flush eyes with plenty of clean water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
Exposure by Ingestion: Symptoms may include gastric upset and nausea. Do not induce vomiting. Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms persist.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable Extinguishing Media: Dry chemical, foam or carbon dioxide.
Hazards from Combustion Products: May produce oxides of carbon if burning.
Extinguishing Media not to be used: Use of water extinguishing media on any oil fire should be avoided.
Specific Exposure Hazards: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a fire.
Protective Equipment for Fire-fighters: Full protective clothing & self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Personal Precautions: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity. Wear suitable protective equipment.
Safety Precautions: Eliminate all ignition sources. Ventilate area.
Environmental Precautions: Do not allow to enter drains.
Methods for Cleaning Up: Absorb spill with a suitable inert material (e.g. sand or soil). Transfer the spill to waste containers labelled in the same way as the original containers. Cap & seal waste containers. Clean spillage area with water & detergent.
Handling and storage
HANDLING:
Precautions: Avoid contact with skin & eyes. The substance should be handled under conditions of good industrial hygiene & in conformity with any local regulations in order to avoid unnecessary exposure to personnel or the environment.
Technical Measures: Engineering controls such as local exhaust ventilation should be used in order to reduce exposure to the substance.
Specific Requirements: None known.
STORAGE:
Specific Design – Storage Rooms or Vessels: Adequate ventilation.
Incompatible Materials: Oxidisers.
Conditions of Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, protected from moisture, sources of ignition and direct sunlight. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
Quantity Limits: None.
Packaging Materials: Brown Glass, Stainless Steel and Aluminium Containers.
SPECIFIC USE(S): Ingredient for, cosmetic and perfuming products.

Exposure controls / personal protection
The provision of personal protective equipment and the need to provide engineering control measures should be decided upon by the user as part of a formal exposure risk assessment.
Based upon the available toxicological information the protective measures described below should be regarded as a minimum.
EXPOSURE CONTROL: No Exposure Standard allocated.
BIOLOGICAL LIMIT VALUES: No Biological Limit allocated.
ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Use only in a well-ventilated area.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS
Respiratory Protection: Based on current information & in the absence of occupational exposure limits, use of a vapour mask to a minimum standard of EN405 FFA1 is recommended if ventilation is poor or the space is confined.
Hand Protection: Chemical protective gloves to a Standard EN374 should be provided. Usage periods should not exceed the breakthrough times for the chemical stated by the manufacturer of the glove.
Eye Protection: Eye protection (safety glasses), should be used when handling the substance. The protection should be capable of giving chemical protection as classified in EN166.
Skin Protection: Handling of the material should be done wearing chemical protective clothing suitable for protection against the chemical as classified by Standard EN368.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS: None specified.
Stability and reactivity
CHEMICAL STABILITY: Chemically stable material.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Heat and light
INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS: Strong Oxidising agents.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide & other hazardous decomposition products may form under fire conditions.
HAZARDOUS REACTIONS: Not Available
Disposal considerations
Waste from Residues: Dispose of by incineration or landfill in accordance with local regulations.
Contaminated / Empty Packaging: Dispose of by incineration or landfill in accordance with local regulations.
