Tilapia larvae are available year-round from mature adults if conditions are controlled at 26-29°C under a photoperiod of 12-14 h lighting. Mature adult tilapia obtained from the Tainan Branch of the Taiwan Fisheries Research Institute were reared in circulating freshwater under the conditions described above. Fertilized eggs and hatched larvae were incubated under the same condition as above.
