Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Two reliable measured results are available for the freezing point of the submission substance. In the first study, using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), the registration of the measurement starts at +25°C with a rate of 5 K/min down to -100°C. This was followed by heating from -100°C up to +25°C. There was no melting or freezing temperature above -100°C. Therefore, the freezing point of the submission substance was reported as <-100°C at 1013 hPa and used as the key study.

A second supporting study was performed by the same author using a pour point method. The test sample was cooled using a cooling medium of a mixture of dry ice and isopropanol. In the pour point study, the test substance was found to be movable at temperatures below -50°C at 1013 hPa.

Both studies are consistent to indicate that the freezing temperature of the substance is <-20°C.
