Description of key information
The visual inspection of the registered substance show a gel, yellow hard wax.
According to OECD 105 and EU Method A.1, no melting point of the registred substance could have been determined using the DSC method in our experimental conditions (from about - 20°C to about 400°C). Using the Kofler hot bench method, the melting point of the test has been determined to be lower than 50°C.
Mean boiling point of the registered substance (3 assays) is: 314.9 ± 2.6°C (corrected value) according to OECD 103 and EU Method A.2.
According to OECD 109 and EU Method A.3, the mean relative density of the registred substance using the gas comparison method with the stereopycnometer was: D (at approximately 20°C) = 1.435 ± 0.002.
The vapour pressure of regitered substance is 3.6 10^-4 Pa at 25°C, using a vapour pressure balance (Annex V of EU Method A.4), according to EU Method A.4.
The log10 Pow is equal to -2 according to EU Method A. 8 (Partition coefficient).
The hydrosolubility of registered substance is equal to 674000 mg/L according to EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility).
The surface tension of registered substance is 72.0 mN/m (1.01 g/l solution) at 22.0 ± 0.5°C, using a ring method based on ISO 304, Method A5 of Commission Directive 92/69/EEC.
Mean flash-point of the registered siubstance is 244.0°C ± 1.5°C (corrected at the pressure of 101.3 kPa) according to EU Method A.9 (Flash point) ASTM D93.
According to EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids), no self ignition temperature of the test registered substance was recorded up to 423 °C.
The registered substance is non flammable, according to EU method A.10 for solids. Based on experience in handling and use and the chemical structure, pyrophoriocity and flammability on contact with water are not to be expected.
Considering the absence of identified reactive groups in each of the 3 constituents of the registered substance, these 3 constituents (taken separately or as a mixture) are considered as having no properties of explosiveness.
The registered substance contains oxygen only chemically bonded to carbon. This substance is not a peroxid, and do not contain fluorine or chlorine. There is no group associate with oxidising properties. In conclusion, there is no oxidising properties.
The stability of the substance D-Glucose, polymer with xylitol and D-Xylitol, 1,4-anhydro- and Xylitol is not considered to be critical.
The pH of the registered substance, at 5% in aqueous solution, is 6.
