Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
other information
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
no
Remarks:
Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria (UN-MTC), 6th revised edition, 2015
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
other: The test substance burned for approx. 3 - 6 seconds within the start segment. The test substance did not burn down.
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test substance burned for approx. 3 - 6 seconds within the start segment. The test
substance did not burn down.
The performance of the full test was not necessary.
Executive summary:

The test substance burned for approx. 3 - 6 seconds within the start segment. The test

substance did not burn down.

The performance of the full test was not necessary.

Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
other information
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.4 (Test method for self-heating substances)
Version / remarks:
As a screening test the Grewer oven test (VDI guideline 2263, part 1, 1990) was carried out.
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Test procedure:
other: Grewer test with 8 mL-basket
Max. temp. reached:
420
Result:
negative outcome (no effect observed)
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
not self-heating
Executive summary:

In the temperature/time diagram was only a weak exothermic

reaction starting at about 220 °C (ΔTmax = 6 K).

After the measurement, a small amount of black, brittle residue remained in the wire-mesh

basket.

With respect to appendix 6, chapter 5.2.2 of UN-MTC there were no additional tests

necessary.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance does not contain metals or metalloids and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
other:

Description of key information

The substance is not flammable, has no pyrophoric properties, does not generate flammable gases in contacti with water and it is not self-heating.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified
