Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Flash point:
ca. 154.5 °C
Atm. press.:
101.3 kPa

First determination:

The flash point of the test item was estimated at 154°C during the first determination. An automatic correction was applied to the obtained result because the ambient pressure was not 101.3 kPa but 99.5 kPa. With this correction, the flash point value was 154.5°C at 101.3 kPa.

Second determination:

The flash point was detected at 154.0°C and the same automatic correction was applied because the ambient pressure was still 99.4 kPa. With this correction, the flash point value was 154.5°C at 101.3 kPa.

Control of the performance of the method:

-         A flash point of 193.5°C was registered for the reference substance glycerol (Batch N° 16H084105)

-         A flash point of 75.5°C was registered for the Certified Reference Material (Batch N° 1151709)

Conclusion:

The corrected flash point of the test item was determined to be 154.5°C at 101.3 kPa (lowest value of two independent determinations).

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The corrected flash point of the test item was determined to be 154.5°C at 101.3 kPa (lowest value of two independent determinations).
Executive summary:

The study was performed in order to determine the flash point of test item according to EU A.9 guideline, using an equilibrium method with closed cup.

The flash point of the test item was determined to be 154.5°C at 101.3 kPa (lowest value of two independent determinations).

The test item is NOT classified as flammable liquid according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS).

Description of key information

The flash point of test item was determined to be 154.5°C at 101.3 kPa.

Test item is NOT classified as flammable liquid according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
