- water solubility
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- from 2017-04-18 to 2017-05-16
- Reliability:
- 1 (reliable without restriction)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- guideline study
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline

- Guideline:
- EPA OPPTS 830.7840 (Water Solubility)
- Deviations:
- yes
- Remarks:
- refer to 'Principles of method if other than guideline'
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- As the water solubility of the test item determined in a preliminary test showed that the test item is very soluble, as a main test the Preliminary test (OECD 105) with visual detection at room temperature was performed.
- GLP compliance:
- yes (incl. QA statement)
- Type of method:
- other: preliminary test (OECD 105), visual detection
- Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch No.: 0458507022_R_JM
Purity: 99.8 % - Key result
- Water solubility:
- > 835 g/L
- Conc. based on:
- test mat.
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- pH:
- 0.5
- Conclusions:
- The water solubility of the test item was determined to be > 835 g/L (ca. 10 g / 12 mL) at room temperature based on the Preliminary Test (OECD 105).
- Executive summary:
The water solubility was determined according to OECD 105, Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 method A.6 and OPPTS 830.7840. In a preliminary test no saturated solution of the test item could not be prepared, therefore, the standard methods for determination of the water solubility are not feasible. Therefore, the water solubility of the test item was determined using the Preliminary test (OECD 105) with visual detection. 5 - 11 g test item were added to 5 mL water in 1 g steps. After each addition of an amount of test item, the mixture was shaken and was visually checked for any undissolved parts of the sample. The pH of each sample was recorded. The water solubility of the test substance was determined to be > 835 g/L (ca. 10 g / 12 mL) at room temperature based on the Preliminary Test (OECD 105) (pH 0.5).
