Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
ca. 72.2 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 008 hPa

The preliminary study and measurements were performed under atmospheric pressure of 1008 hPa.

The average value of melting point was found at approximately 72.2 ± 0.1 °C when heated at 3.0 °C per minute starting at 30 °C (at about 10.0 °C below the expected boiling temperature, the heating rate was reduced to 0.5 °C/min).

The measuring accuracy depends on the BÜCHI Melting Point M-565 apparatus accuracy. The accuracy of the apparatus is defined as: up to 250.0 °C is equal to 0.3 °C, 250.0 - 400.0 °C is equal to 0.3 °C - 0.5 °C). In this study, the accuracy of the apparatus was equal to 0.3 °C.

Conclusions:
The melting point of tested item was observed at temperature of 72.2 ± 0.1 °C under atmospheric pressure of 1008 hPa.
Executive summary:

The determination of the melting point was carried out in accordance with OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 102 “Melting point/melting range” in conformity with the EEC method A.1, with GLP. The capillary tube method was used with the BÜCHI Melting Point B-565 apparatus. The measurements were performed in three samples of the test item. The melting point of tested item was observed at temperature of 72.2 ± 0.1 °C under atmospheric pressure of 1008 hPa.
