Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

No data are available for trichloro(ethyl)silane. Reliable acute aquatic toxicity tests results for freshwater fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss), invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata) are however available from a read-across substance (Trimethoxy(vinyl)silane (2768 -02 -7)), which is a close structural analogue and hydrolyses in the timescale of the tests to a similar hydrolysis product. LC50 or EC50 values for the three organisms were 191, 168.7 and 210 mg/L respectively. A NOEC of 25 mg/L was determined in the algal test. It is likely that the test organisms were exposed to the hydrolysis products of the substance.

A 21-day NOEC value of ≥100 mg/L has been determined for the effects of the test substance on survival and reproduction ofDaphnia magnawhen expressed in terms of nominal concentrations. When expressed in terms of mean measured TOC concentration in the test medium the NOEC was ≥10 mg/L. It is likely that the test organisms were primarily exposed to the hydrolysis products of the substance.
