Description of key information

One study was performed to determine the acute toxicity of bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylate to fish.
The study was performed on Oncorhynchus mykiss in a 96-hour semi-static test according to OECD 203 and EU Method C.1.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
18 mg/L

Additional information

The study was performed to assess the acute toxicity of the test item to rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).

Following a preliminary range-finding test, fish were exposed, in groups of seven, to an aqueous solution of the test item at nominal concentrations of 6.3, 12.5, 25, 50 and 100% v/v saturated solution for a period of 96 hours.

Exposure of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) to the test item gave the following results based on the time-weighted mean measured test concentrations:

Time point hours LC50 (mg/L)  95% Confidence Limits (mg/L)  No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) (mg/L)  Lowest Observed Effect Concentration (LOEC) (mg/L)
