Description of key information

Experimental data on the potential of skin sensitisation of TBBP are not available.

QSAR Toolbox has identified one "Mechanistic Alert: Nucleophilic substitution at sp3 Carbon atom". Halogens act as a good leaving group when bonded to a sufficiently electrophilic centre where C-Hal bond is activated by the electron-withdrawing groups (R) and SN2 reaction is possible. Skin sensitizing potential increases in order Cl< Br< I.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Considering the only mechanistic profile of the substance, data are judged as inconclusive for the classification.
