General Information
- Name:
- Benzotrichloride
- Implementation:
- EU
- Remarks:
- The classification is according to the harmonized classification and labelling for benzotrichloride as listed in EC 1272/2008, Annex VI, Table 3.1 (CLP regulation).
The minimum classification 'Acute Tox 3* - H331' has been replaced by 'Acute Tox 2 - H330' based on data.
An additional hazards is included by self classification, i.e. skin sensitization.
Remarks regarding the classification of physical hazards:
Benzotrichloride is an organic liquid, therefore the physical hazard statements for gases and solids are not relevant. In these cases, the reason for no classification is equal to "conclusive but not sufficient for classification". Besides, the reason for no classification for the flammable aerosols physical hazards is that benzotrichloride is not an aerosol dispenser.
Also, based on the structure, many classifications on physical hazards can be found. Indeed, based on the structure of benzotrichloride, the test substance should not be classified for explosives properties, self-reactive substances and mixtures, substances and mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases, oxidising liquids, organic peroxides, pyrophoric liquids and self-heating substances.
