- Reference substance: Potassium chromate p.a. (Merck)
- Sampling: At 0, 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours after test start, the algae cell density was determined by spectro-fluorometrical measurement using an impulse fluorometer.

Description of key information
No aquatic algae and cyanobacteria toxicity study is available on the registered substance (Reaction mass of C12-C13 acrylates, EC Number 911-296-4). However, experimental data are available on an analogue substance (Reaction mass of C12-C14 acrylates, CAS 84238-60-8).
In an experimental study conducted according to the DIN 38 412, Part 9, the EC50 (growth rate inhibition) was determined to be equal to 51.6 mg/L and the EC10 (growth rate inhibition) was equal to 24.8 mg/L.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- EC50 for freshwater algae:
- 51.6 mg/L
- EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
- 24.8 mg/L
