Principle of method

Determination of the mass at a giventemperature of a volume of the material contained in a density bottle (pyknometer) and determination of the volume of the latter by determining the mass of the corresponding volume of water at the same temperature. The density is obtained by dividing the mass of material by its volume.

Other supporting studies determined the density of 2-methylanisole as follows,

Based on available data from handbook, the density of 2-methylanisole was determined to be 0.985 g/cm3 at 25 °C.

Other supporting studies from handbooks and authoritative databases exhibited the density of 2-methylanisole as followed,

Gestis = 0.98 g/cm3 at 20 °C,

Handbook = 0.9853 g/cm3 at 15.5 °C,

Scifinder = 0.9798 g/cm3,

Review article = 0.983 -0.986 g/cm3 at 15.5 °C.

All these obtained values supported the selected key value very strongly.
