Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
Category 2 (irritating to eyes) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The Draize score after 7 days was 3.2.
Under the test conditions, 4-Nonylphenol, branched, ethoxylated was moderate ocular irritant.
Hence, 4-Nonylphenol, branched, ethoxylated can be considered to be moderately irritating to rabbit eyes.
Executive summary:

Primary Ocular irritation test was conducted in rabbits to evaluate the irritation potential of 4-Nonylphenol, branched, ethoxylated.

6 male and female rabbits weighing1.8 - 2.4 kg were used for the study. 0.1 ml single administration of4-Nonylphenol, branched, ethoxylated (Carsonon N-10, 5% Active in Distilled Water) was instilled into the rabbit eyes. The treated eyes were not washed for 24 hours and up to seven day observation. The effects observed were scored according to Draize method.
