The susbstance trimethylolpropane diallyl ether (TMPDE) is stable to hydrolysis at environmentally relevant temperatures and pH's i.e. the estimated hydrolysis half-life is greater than one year under environmental conditions.

In a study conducted to guideline OECD 302B, the substance TMPDE was 72% biodegraded over 28 days (i.e.> 70%). The substance TMPDE is therefore considered inherently and ultimately biodegradable. However, the pass level of 70% biodegradation was not achieved within a 7 day window.

The logKow of trimethylolpropane diallyl ether is reported to be 3. The logKow of trimethylolpropane monoallyl ether is reported to be 1.4. (see Section 4.7, partition coefficient). No study is required if the substance can be expected to have a low potential for bioaccumulation. According to Column 2 of Annex IX of the REACH regulation, no study is required if the substance can be expected to have a low potential for bioaccumulation.

Based on the Log Pow value (OECD 117, is 3.0), the substance trimethylolpropane diallyl ether can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption. According to Column 2 of Annex VIII of the REACH regulation, no study is required if the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption.

In accordance with REACH Annex XI, based on available data, the substance is not classified as hazardous for the environment. Therefore, degradation simulation testing in water and/or sediment and soil do not need to be conducted.
