Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference substance:
2-Pentanone, 4-methyl-, reaction products with 2-(2-aminoethoxy)ethanol
Reference substance:
2-Pentanone, 4-methyl-, reaction products with 2-(2-aminoethoxy)ethanol
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The test item attained 70% biodegradation after 28 days. Despite attaining in excess of 60% biodegradation the test item failed to satisfy the 10-Day window validation criterion, and therefore cannot be considered to be readily biodegradable under the strict terms and conditions of OECD Guideline No. 301F. However, the test item has exhibited the potential for rapid biodegradation and the substance is not considered to persistent.

The determination of the partition coefficient was not feasible due to rapid hydrolysis of the substance. The log Kow value estimated by KOWIN Progam (v1.68) was 2.99 which is below the threshold limit of 4.5 and therefore the substance has no potential for bioaccumulation.

The available toxicological and ecotoxicological data do not give evidence of significant toxic effects of the substance and therefore do not exhibits Toxicity properties.

Consequently the substance is not fulfilling the P or vP, B or vB and T criterion according to Annex XIII of the REACH regulation. The substance is not a PBT or vPvB substance according to the REACH regulation.
