A bioconcentration study of Bis trifluoromethanesulfonimide lithium (TFSILi) was performed in accordance with the OECD 305 guideline and under GLP conditions. After an acute toxicity study, doses of 0.25 and 2.5 µg/ml were selected to treat Cyprinus carpio fish under continuous flow through system, during 8 weeks. HPLC method was used to determine concentration of test item in water and in fish. The detection limit for bioconcentration was 4 for the high exposure level and 40 for the low exposure level. The mean concentrations of the test substance during the exposure period of 8 weeks were 2.56 µg/mL for high exposure level and 0.225 µg/mL for low exposure level, which almost corresponded to the nominal values. The coefficients of variation were calculated to be 6.6% for high exposure level and 7.5% for low exposure level.

The concentrations of the test substance in fish were calculated to be below 9.6 µg/g at high exposure level and below 9.2 µg/g at low exposure level. The bioconcentration factors (BCFs) were determined to be below 4 for high exposure level and below 41 for low exposure level.

On the basis of the above results, it was concluded that the test substance was not bioaccumulative in carp under the prescribed test conditions.
