Hydrolysis:

The Hydrolysis rate constant of Benzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride is estimated to be 0.0000000002118423 cm3/molecule-sec at half-life of 0.606 hrs. The estimated half-life of the substance indicates that the substance Benzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride is rapidly hydrolysable

Biodegradation in water: screening tests

The screening test inherent to the biodegradability of the substance was calculated using the software BIOWIN v4.10.

The results indicate that Benzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride is not expected to be readily biodegradable.

Biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation tests

Half life period of Benzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride in water is observed to be 60 days (1.44e+003 hrs.) while in sediment it is 54.1666 days (1.3e+004 hrs). Based on these half life values of Benzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride, it is concluded that the chemical is not persistent in water and persistent in sediment.

Biodegradation in soil

EPI Suite has estimated that Benzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride is expected to be found not predominantly in soil and its not persistence estimate is based on its transformation in this medium. Its half-life in soil, 120 days (2.88e+003 hrs), does exceeds the threshold of 120 days as per Annex XIII of REACH.

Therefore, Benzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride is estimated to be not persistent in the soil environment.

Bioaccumulation

The estimated bioconcentration factor (BCF) forBenzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chlorideis 3.162 L/kg, that does not exceed the bioconcentration threshold of 2000. Thus it is concluded thatBenzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chlorideis not expected to bioaccumulate in the food chain because it does not exceed the BCF criteria.

Adsorption / desorption:

The soil adsorption coefficient (Koc) value of Benzenaminium, 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphthalenyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride is estimated to be 13450 L/kg, indicating that it is has a high sorption to soil and sediment and therefore have non migration potential to groundwater.
