Description of key information

The target chemical is considered to have very low toxicity to aquatic species.

Additional information

The toxicity potential of the target chemical to fish, Daphnia, algae, aquatic plants and microbes has been investigated over the years. The outcomes from these studies has been outlined here:

The 96h LC50 to fish was determined to be >1000 mg/L, while the 48h EC50 to Daphnia was >8 mg/L. The EµC50 (0 - 96h) to algae was >4 mg/L, while it did not cause adverse effects on Lemna minor (growth/biomass) when tested at 100% v/v saturated solution. The IC50 (3h) of the target chemical to bacterial population was >320.0 mg/l.

Based on the results available, the target chemical is considered to have very low toxicity to aquatic species.
