TCPP is a non volatile liquid substance which is only slightly soluble in water. The environmental fate of TCPP in water and sediment will be determined by biotic and abiotic transformation.


The QSARs estimated half-lives for biodegradation of TCPP in water and sediment based upon BIOWIN Ultimate Biodegradation are 1440 hours (60 days) and 12960 hours (540 days), respectively. Whereas the half-lives of TCPP for volatilization from water are estimated as 2.028 years (for a river) and 22.15 years (for a lake) using EPI Suite software.


The QSAR models predicts timeframe within days-weeks for primary biodegradation of TCPP and months for its ultimate degradation.


The following information is taken into account for the hazard / risk / persistency assessment: Overall ready biodegradability prediction provided by a number of BIOWIN (v.4.10) models suggests that TCPP is not ready biodegradable in the environment.
