First-aid measures

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.00). Sweep up(wet powders with water), for liquids absorb using asuitable absorbent material (eg. kieselguhr, sand, saw dustetc). Transfer to labelled containers and dispose of byincineration in accordance with local regulations. Washspill site with water. Prevent release to water courses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Observe the usual precautionsfor handling chemicals. If the substance is handled aspowder, avoid inhalation and contact with skin and eyes.Wear suitable protective gloves, safety goggles and a dustmask. Use equipment for handling powders or otherappropriate egineering controls.Storage: The substance should be stored in well sealed and securecontainers in adequate rooms at room temperature. Avoid dustresidue outside the containers.Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene-drum in sealed cardboard-package.

Exposure controls / personal protection

-. Hygiene measures:Avoid ingestion, inhalation, skin and eye contact. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene practice and any legal requirements.Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period.Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.-. Eye/face protection:Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists, gases or dusts. Recommended: tightly fitting safety goggles.-. Hand protection:Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Use gloves approved to relevant standards e.g. EN 374 (Europe), F739 (US). Suitability and durability of a glove is dependent on usage, e.g. frequency and duration of contact, chemical resistance of glove material and dexterity. Always seek advice from glove suppliers. -. Skin protection:Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product. -.Respiratory protection:Respiratory protection by enhanced general ventilation (5-10 air changes per hour). Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product and the safe working limits of the selected respirator.-.Environmental exposure controls:Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. In some cases, fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment will be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.

If necessary, the waster water can be purifiedprior to the waste water treatment by membrane filtrationor by floculation with cationic agents or by treatment withozone.
