Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove/take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower.
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting.
IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.
Get medical attention if symptoms persist.
Never give liquid to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media: Water, CO2 or Foam
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: Avoid water in straight hose stream; will scatter and spread fire.
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Avoid breathing dust or vapor. Cool containers exposed to flames with water until well after the fire is out.
- Advice for fire fighter: No specific precautions.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Contain spillages with sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material.
- Environmental precautions: There must be no release into the environment.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Collect with non-combustible absorbent material. Flush with water. Dike for large spills.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling: Extinguish all ignition sources. Avoid sparks, flames, heat and smoking. Ventilate. Store in a cool, dry place with adequate ventilation. Keep away from incompatible materials, open flames, and high temperatures. Do not breathe vapor from heated material.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep only in the original container in an appropriate place.
