Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The structural analog vinyl neodecanoate was evaluated for biodegradability by O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline 301 B "Ready Biodegradability: Modified Sturm Test (CO2 evolution)", O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline 301 D "Ready Biodegradability: Closed Bottle Test" and O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline 302 C "Inherent Biodegradability: Modified MITI Test (II)".

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The level of biodegradation observed for vinyl neodecanoate in "Ready" biodegradation studies was 14 - 17% after 28 days of contact. In the inherent biodegradation study the level of biodegradation was 3 - 5% after 28 days of contact. Therefor, it is unlikely that vinyl neononanoate will be biodegradable under the same experimental conditions.
