The key study for skin sensitisation is read across from the structurally analogous substance octamethyltrisiloxane (L3, CAS 107-51-7). The test substance was found not sensitising to the skin of guinea-pig (RCC 1999).
The selected study is the only skin sensitisation study available for the most relevant surrogate substance. It was carried out in accordance with an appropriate OECD test guideline and in compliance with GLP.
No data were available for the registered substance, and therefore the key study for the structurally analogous substance octamethyltrisiloxane (L3, CAS 107-51-7) was used as read across.
The study was conducted according to an appropriate OECD/EU test guideline, and in compliance with GLP. None of the test animals showed any signs of sensitisation.
Based on the available data from the structurally analogous substance octamethyltrisiloxane (L3, CAS 107-51-7), no classification is proposed for the registered substance in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
