Sampling and analysis

Analytical monitoring:
yes
Details on sampling:
The analytical method was suitable only for measurement of actual concentrations in samples taken from the stock solutions in acetone. Samples were also taken from the test media at the start and the end of the test. Analysis of the test concentration samples was attempted but resulted in most cases in non-dectable values. Therefore, final evaluation of the results was based on nominal concentrations.

Test solutions

Vehicle:
yes
Details on test solutions:
Identity and concentration of auxiliary solvent for dispersal: acetone 0.1 ml/l. Stock solutions in acetone contained 60 or 120 g/L. These were used to prepare the final test solutions.

Test organisms

Test organisms (species):
Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (previous names: Raphidocelis subcapitata, Selenastrum capricornutum)

Nominal and measured concentrations:
Nominal: 6 mg/L - Stock: 60 g/L - Actual: 54 g/L
Nominal: 12 mg/L - Stock: 120 g/L - Actual: 108 g/L
