Description of key information

Waiving based on exposure and Chemical Safety Assessment

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to Column 2 of REACH annex X the test if the results of the chemical safety assessment indicates no need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or relevant degradation products on sediment organisms.

The substance is very poorly soluble in water and readily biodegradable. The equilibrium partitioning method, following a fugacity model III indicate a partition of the substance on sediments of 85.5%, based on high Kow.

But based on results of bacteria inhibition and biodegradability, it is not previewd a toxicity effect on sediment organisms.

A tier 1 Risk Assessment based on the European main use of the substance elaborated with EUSES 2.0 showed no concern; it is assumed that water exposure will not occur because the exposure scenarios is focused only on industrial application where all waste, when present, is sent to STP, where a 100% of degradation occurs.
