Studies do not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the soil component is unlikely. There is no sludge application to land from exposed STPs, aerial deposition are negligible. It can be stated that terrestrial toxicity tests are not warranted. This statement given above is in line with the specific rule in 1907/2006/EC Annex IX, section 9.4, column 2.
