Description of key information

The study was performed to determine the physicochemical properties of the test substance Azodicarbonamide (HLS, 2010, LBA0003). To determine the melting temperature, OECD Method 102 (metal block method) has been used.

In duplicate definitive melting point determinations, the sample was observed to rise suddenly up the melting capillary at 204°C due to evolution of gas. There was no sign of melting before this energetic decomposition occurred.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
204 °C
