Description of key information

The key study is a study on Pseudomonas putida growth inhibition, giving an EC10-18h of 31.7 mg/L. This is consistent with the biodegradation study by CERI, in which no inhibition has been observed with test material concentrations of 100mg/L (CERI 1998).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
31.7 mg/L

Additional information

The key study is a study on Pseudomonas putida growth inhibition, giving an EC10-18h of 31.7 mg/L. The effect value has been determined by a graphic method, not by regression analysis and is therefore very conservative, because the growth inhibiton at higher concentrations is below 10 %. This is consistent with the biodegradation study by CERI, in which no inhibition has been observed with test material concentrations of 100mg/L (CERI 1998).
