Short description of key information:
The substance is negative in the 2 available Ames studies. This result is supported by information from the public domain on the read-across substance, 2,4-pentadione (See section 13 for the read-across justification). An in vitro mutagenicity study in mammalian cells, OECD 476, on the read-across substance, 2,4-pentadione, was negative. An in vitro cytogenicity study has not been performed but in vivo the registered substance did not induce micronuclei as determined by the micronucleus test with bone marrow cells of the mouse.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Based on the available information classification is not warranted.
