Additional information

In accordance with REACH Annexes VII and VIII, column 2 adaptation, studies on skin and eye irritation do not need to be conducted as members of the butenes category are flammable gases at room temperature. There are no data available as no skin or eye irritation studies have been conducted with members of this category but category members are not expected to be irritating. There are no indications of irritation from repeat dose inhalation studies. Based on physical chemical properties, liquid butenes may cause burns and frostbite due to the extreme cold of the liquid.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Members of the butenes category are flammable gases at room temperature. There is no evidence that category members are irritating and therefore do not warrant classification under Dir 67/548/EEC or GHS/CLP.
