Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a static test performed by BASF AG (2007, GLP) according to OECD guideline 201, an EC50 (72h) of 92.3 mg/L based on Chl-a fluorescence yield measurements and > 100 mg/L based on growth was determined for Desmodesmus subspicatus (nominal concentration). Therefore, cyclohexane, oxidized, aq. ext., is not expected to be harmful to algae. Analytical measurements of test substance concentrations revealed a considerable loss during the exposure of 72 hours with values of 35 – 39% of the initial value, obtained. The losses may be caused at least partly by a reaction of the components of the test substances to less soluble components, which were no longer stably distributed in the test solutions. Since algae were not removed before the determination was carried out, an adsorption to algae is unlikely to be the cause of the decrease in the concentrations.

The test results provide the toxicity of the Cyclohexane, oxidated, aqueous and/or its reaction products and are therefore related to the nominal concentrations of the test substance in the test solutions.
